How long have you been at DCCH, what is your position, and what transitions have you had here (if any)?

I’ve been with DCCH for 23 years. I started my journey here as a 3rd shift direct care staff and moved into the housekeeping role. I also assist with the gathering and disbursing of Christmas presents and donations that our wonderful donors supply.

What’s something people don’t know about you?

Most people may not know that I am a twin and have a 25-year-old son that has given me two beautiful grandchildren. I also just purchased my first home and have been enjoying making it fit my likings. Something else people may not know about me is that I assisted in my brother’s campaign for Covington’s City Commissioner.

Tell us about family – what’s that look like?

A family to me is a loving and caring home full of, and surrounded by, those who love and care for each other. As they might say, “you have my back, and I’ll have yours.”

What do you love the most about working here?

My favorite part about being a team member here at DCCH is assisting with Christmas every year. I love putting the donations together and getting them wrapped and disbursed to all the kids – seeing the joy on their faces. The holiday season is one of the toughest in this line of work and to see them smile brings joy to my heart.

What is your biggest challenge in this job?

The biggest challenge in my current position has been having the time to spend more time one-on-one with the kids. I enjoy having that time but with the enormous number of the daily tasks it doesn’t always allow the time to spend with the kids individually. Surviving COVID brought another level of challenges to the tasks of caring for a building with such a large group.
