Girl Scouts earn Silver Award

Local Girl Scout Troop Changes Lives

A local NKY Girl Scouts troop has been partnering with DCCH’s Foster Care Program while earning their prestigious Silver Award.

The girls were in the thick of planning when COVID hit. Like good troopers, they did not give up but re-strategized their project. The final portion is wrapping up with a unique message highlighting the need for more foster and adoptive parents. The girls designed four different bookmarks, each with a foster care message and printed 1,000 copies. With the help of other NKY Girl Scout troops, the bookmarks will be distributed across our region by including them in local cookie deliveries.

Watch the story on Fox 19.

Troop 2173 really exemplifies the Scouting spirit, and DCCH is so grateful for their partnership! We encourage everyone to return the gift by purchasing a box (or two) of cookies!
