Grants are a significant part of our annual fundraising goal and we are looking for an ambitious person to grow that program. Part-time (20 hours/week) with flexible hours and possibility of some remote work.

Who are we? DCCH Center cares for survivors of child abuse who have been removed from their homes by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and referred to us for specialized residential treatment. DCCH provides life-changing services for children who have endured the most severe forms of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and require a level of care beyond traditional programs and facilities. DCCH also has Foster Care & Adoption, Targeted Case Management, and Independent Living programs in addition to operating an Outpatient Therapy center which is open to the public.

The Grants Coordinator will report directly to the Development & Marketing Director in all areas of job performance and responsibilities. The Grants Coordinator will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in writing and/or communications or related field or have equivalent work experience in writing for publications or grants. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with Microsoft Office programs and database software preferred.

The Grants Coordinator must be proficient in written communication. This position includes building relationships with grant funders as well as seeking out new funding sources. The ability to be diplomatic, a good listener, and work with a diverse population are key. We are looking for someone who possesses the ability to work with various deadlines, support multiple projects at the same time, is detail oriented, strong planner, organized, and has good administrative skills.

As an employee at DCCH Center for Children and Families, the Grant Coordinator will be sensitive and responsive to cultural differences, which are present in the organization’s service population. They will participate in the support and activities of the Performance Quality Improvement Program.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

GRANTS

  • Implement the annual goals for the Development Office along with the Development & Marketing Director.
  • Research and write foundation, government, and corporate grants to gain support for DCCH’s programs and capital needs.
  • Represent the agency in meetings with potential funding sources.
  • Utilize the donor database management system as related to grants.
  • Maintain excellent records and follow up with grant reporting.
  • Participate as an integral member of the Development team. This includes assisting with planning, written content, and strategic planning.
  • Assist with development and content of press releases and two newsletters per year.
  • Provide support for Annual Dinner Meeting, and Swing into Spring.
  • Maintain knowledge about the external environment as it relates to DCCH’s mission and values.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the Executive Director and Development & Marketing Director.

DCCH Center for Children and Families is seeking Therapeutic Behavioral Specialists for full time positions in our Residential Treatment program.

The primary responsibility of this position is cleaning a unit in which the children live. The role also includes the therapeutic supervision of children with emotional and/ or behavioral difficulties. The children at DCCH have experienced trauma, and it takes a special person who can help them heal and find hope in a brighter future. This position requires:

  • general cleaning and upkeep of a residential unit,
  • supporting children in crisis,
  • providing therapeutic solutions to address challenging behaviors, and
  • facilitating positive outcomes with children who sometimes have difficulty connecting with others.

DCCH Center for Children and Families is seeking Therapeutic Behavioral Specialists for full time positions in our Residential Treatment program Tuesdays-Fridays, 3-11 PM; Saturdays, 7 AM - 3 PM OR 3 PM - 11 PM (your choice).

The primary responsibility of this position is the therapeutic supervision of children with emotional and/ or behavioral difficulties. The children at DCCH have experienced trauma, and it takes a special person who can help them heal and find hope in a brighter future. This position requires:

  • Assist/monitor/teach children with preparation of daytime activities, good personal hygiene and behavior appropriate in their home and apartment environment. Supervise, plan discipline, reward, and manage a group of children. Staff is expected to follow through on treatment team interventions and staffing recommendations consistently. Staff behavior and interaction with children shall be directed towards the attainment of goals set forth within the child’s treatment plan.
  • Handle emergency situations appropriately (According to Safe Crisis Management standards)
  • Assist TBS Supervisor in the responsibility for assigning the daily routine for children, (i.e., meals, rising, school attendance, home visits, special activities, medical care, etc.). Assist treatment team in the development of goals on child’s treatment plan.
  • Accept responsibility for physical care and maintenance of the apartments occupied by their children or group. Perform specific cleaning responsibilities as outlined by TBS supervisor.
  • Assume responsibility for keeping clothing and other items needed for the children in good order. Communicate immediate needs to appropriate persons.
  • Participate in all admission staffing’s, quarterly staffings, treatment team meetings, and discharge procedures related to the children. Attend treatment team meeting on a weekly basis.
  • Follow all necessary protocols and complete a critical incident (CI) report immediately. Perform daily record keeping (goals sheets, behavior plans, CRP behavior tally sheet, contact log, medication log, and other specialized reports). Exchange information with the next shift and/or with treatment team.
  • Provide transportation for the children when necessary.
  • Assist/monitor/teach children engaging in daily chores.
  • Follow DCCH Medication procedures when preparing and administrating children’s medications.
  • Provide opportunities for children to have choices, make decisions in daily living and their future goals by assisting them in day-to-day decisions.
  • Assist children in building their self-esteem.
