Grooming: I am comfortable around horses of various temperaments and know how to handle horses safely. I would like to spend time with them brushing, cleaning hooves, bathing, and interacting on the ground.
Training: I am an experienced horseman or horsewoman and would like to do ground work with the horses and train them to succeed under saddle. I understand what Natural Horsemanship is, and will utilize these methods in my training.
Maintenance: I am new to horses, and I am not prepared to work with them one-on-one. However, I do not mind hard work, and would like to participate as a team member so I can get more accustomed to being around the horses. Or, I am experienced with horses and farm work, and just want to help anyway I can. Putting up hay and helping with fence repairs in a team environment sounds like a great way to spend a day on the weekend.
Feeder: I am experienced with horses and have knowledge of their dietary needs. I am willing to feed horses, muck stalls, and perform other duties as assigned by the barn manager.
Sidewalkers: I feel comfortable working with clients by walking alongside the horses during class. I can help clients understand the instructor’s directions, achieve balance, gain independence, and reach personal goals.
Leaders: I am comfortable controling the horse during class. I can warm up the horse before class, secure the horse during mounting and dismounting, and lead the horse during class.
